PROCEDURES
Attendance
All children are required to attend school each day.
In the event of an absence a note needs to be sent in explaining the
reason for the absence.
The school is required to indicate on the electronic roll when a child has
had a full or partial absence. The Home School Liaison
Officer visits schools to check on children’s attendance and will make a
home visit or write to parents whose children appear to have an attendance
problem.
Early Leavers
We do not encourage children to leave school early and hope that
any appointments can be made for out of school hours.
However if your child needs to be taken out of school early we ask parents
to come to the office first to sign the Early Leavers Book.
You will then be given a slip of paper to give to your child’s
teacher.
Late Arrivers
All children who arrive late to school are asked to be accompanied
by their parent to the front office to sign the
late
book and receive a late
slip. These are then given to the class teacher.
All late arrivals have to be noted on the computerized class roll.
Entering School Grounds
Parents who wish to enter the school grounds during school hours
will need to enter via the main office where they will be asked to sign the
visitors book and will be issued with a visitors badge. These badges must be
worn at all times when on the school premises (apart from dropping off and
collecting children). For the safety of all students and staff, the gates
are kept closed during school hours. These above procedures are for the
safety of all children and we thank parents for their co-operation.
Canteen
The school canteen operates each day. It
operates as a Healthy Food Canteen. A canteen price list
is sent home at the beginning of the school term and is available from the
office. Orders need to be placed at the canteen before
school.
Physical Education/Sport
Throughout the week all students participate in Physical Education
activities. Once every week classes participate in a longer
period of Sport. Details of these activities are communicated to parents via
the fortnightly
newsletter. Children will need to wear the sport uniform on their sport day.
If for any reason your child is unable to participate in the Physical
Education lesson on any day we ask that you notify the teacher in writing.
Uniform
All children wear the summer and winter uniform with pride.
We also have a “no hat no play in the sun” policy.
If children do not wear sun-safe hats in the playground they are required to
stay in the shade. The school hat is part of the uniform.
The uniform outlet at school is open each Thursday from 8:45 - 9:15 or as
advised in the school newsletter.
